Material Management

• Aluminium Alloy storage system consisting of two 12m silos.
• COBA can store up to 60 tonnes of polymer per silo (dependent on bulk density).
• Each silo is mounted onto a load cell system to give real time telemetry. This linked to suppliers IT systems offers an autonomous supply arrangement.
• Material is supplied to each extrusion line via an on demand handling system.
• Pumps have an automatic line cleaning facility to ensure contamination free operation during material changes. (Backup pumps ensure maximum uptime).
• The system is controlled by a one wire server control with a visual display matrix in the plant showing operating status at all times.
• The introduction of this system has been an intrinsic element of our lean manufacturing process and has helped us further eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
